To a former political prisoner, the images of political prisoners freed from the dungeons of torture in Syria were elating.
But let’s be clear, I will never claim that four years in Canadian dungeons compare to what political prisoners have suffered in al-Assad regime prisons. The evil that al-Assad has inflicted on the world can only be compared to the worst offenders like Nazi Germany and Zionist Israel. It is now days after the regime has collapsed. Yet, the underground levels of some of the prisons have not been breached and the people held in there have not been released or even fed. No one has checked on them in days. For example, in Sednaya Prison, one of the most notorious prisons in Syria—nicknamed the Human Slaughterhouse—with the reputation of brutality, systematic torture, rape, extra-judicial execution, and probably things that only the sickest minds can imagine, financial rewards are being offered to anyone who can break into these lower levels so that prisoners can be released.

The Syrian revolution finally succeeded in deposing al-Assad regime and liberated Syria from his family’s 54 years of tyrannical rule. The events in Syria have a special place in my heart. I was arrested by Canadian authorities for my blogs in which I was trying to explain the nuance of the Arab Spring, especially Syria.
Well before the Syrian liberators arrived at the capital of Damascus, signs of the regime collapse were already being shared online by people from inside the country, as government forces were filmed abandoning many of their posts.
Even before the dust began to settle, the criminal entity called Israel, led by wanted war criminal Netanyahu, started attacking Syria. On December 8th, this Israeli rogue regime attacked a research centre in the capital and went on to bombard more than 400 Syrian sovereign targets, by their own admission. They also illegally entered and occupied Jabal al-Shaikh and many other villages in the Golan Heights district. By doing so, Israel demonstrated beyond a reasonable doubt that it is the problem in the region. For decades, Israelis said they were attacking Syria because it is part of the Iranian axis in the region. The fall of al-Assad regime strips Israel from this excuse. Not to be outdone by Israel, the Americans raced to bomb around another 100 targets in Syria using their usual “fighting terrorism” propaganda talk. American claims are suspect at best and most of the world has stopped believing anything coming forth from the US. The continuous denial from the US of the genocide in Gaza has erased any credibility America had in the past.
Attacks on newly liberated Syria are not only a clear violation of international laws, they demonstrate to all who have any intelligence that the US and its minion, Israel, are war-mongering entities that will continue to expand their occupation and oppression of the people of the Middle East, at the expense of peace and prosperity in the region and the whole world.
